Register for 100% TFS Assistance Forum

This fall, the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund (HWTF) is working with the NC Department of Public Instruction, the NC Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch and the NC PTA Association to host 6 regional 100% Tobacco-Free Schools Assistance Forums across the state.

These forums will give every school system free tools and resources to help make their district-wide tobacco use policies work. This issue is timely given a new state law requiring all school systems to adopt a policy prohibiting tobacco use anywhere, anytime by anyone on school grounds and at school events, and to make those policies effective by August 2008.

Each school system is encouraged to send a small delegation of 4-5 people to this forum. Delegation members may include assistant superintendents, school health personnel, school nurses, school public information officials and athletic directors.

Click here to register for a regional training and to receive directions. Lunch will be provided.

Whether your system has had a long-standing 100% Tobacco-Free Schools policy or is planning to adopt one soon, this workshop will help school administrators make your tobacco use policies and procedures a success.

If you have additional questions, please contact Pat Vaughn at (919) 707-5408 or patricia.vaughn@ncmail.net. We hope to see you at this workshop!
